1950/60s professional Hohner President (Max Keilwerth) bicolour Alto Saxophone – needs new pads- very good overall condition. German buyers, please mind the German description below at the end of the page. It is an excellent professional instrument that was developed and built by Max Keilwerth. The saxophone still has the rolled tone holes and the beautiful honey-colored gold paint with the nickel-plated keys (bicolour look). It is a professional instrument according to the well-known quality standards of Hohner and Keilwerth. Still everything made in Germany and with good raw materials. These old saxophones were and are handcrafted and offer better quality than modern Far East saxophones in this price range. These saxophones are mechanically and materially very durable and high quality horns. This instrument is in very good condition considering its age. First of all: The saxophone still plays as it is and you get a first impression of the excellent sound and intonation quality. But it has mostly old pads and needs to be overhauled, adjusted and repadded for professional/serious use. BUT: The body and mechanics are in excellent condition considering their age. It has no irreparable technical damage or dents. Mechanics are in good condition and not warped. The body is straight and without visible solder joints. The instrument is optically in very good condition, consistent with its age, apart from a few discolorations and scratches all around. The beautiful laquer is also largely in good condition. Due to the good substance and quality, the instrument offers a great starting point for an overhaul. The instrument comes with a matching case. The good condition is best seen in the pictures! Das Saxophon hat noch die gerollten/gebördelten Tonlochkamine und den wunderschönen honigfarbenen Goldlack mit den vernickelten Klappen (bicolour Optik). Es handelt sich um ein professionelles Instrument nach den bekannten Qualitätsstandards von Hohner bzw. Noch alles made in Germany und mit guten Rohstoffen. Diese alten Saxophone waren und sind handwerklich gefertigt worden und bieten eine bessere Qualität als moderne Fernost-Saxophone in dieser Preisklasse. Diese Saxophone sind mechanisch und materialtechnisch sehr langlebig und robust. Dieses Instrument befindet sich in einem altersgemäß sehr guten Zustand. Vorab: Das Saxophon spielt zwar noch so wie es ist und man bekommt einen ersten Eindruck von der hervorragenden Sound und Intonationsqualität. Aber es hat überwiegend alte Polster und muss für den professionellen bzw. Ernsthaften Gebrauch überholt, eingestellt und neu gepolstert werden. ABER: Der Korpus und die Mechanik sind altersmäßig hervorragend erhalten. Es hat keine irreparablen technischen Schäden oder Dellen. Die Mechanik ist in gutem Zustand und nicht verzogen. Der Korpus ist gerade und ohne sichtbare Lötstellen. Optisch ist das Instrument ebenso altersgemäß bis auf einige Verfärbungen und Kratzer rund herum sehr gut erhalten. Der schöne Lack ist auch weitestgehend in gutem Zustand. Das Instrument bietet aufgrund der guten Substanz sowie und Qualität eine super Ausgangsbasis für eine Überholung.
