This is a Theo Wanne Fire alto mouthpiece, in facing 7. It is in new, open box condition – I play-tested it for a total of about 12 hours, which makes it as new as anything you’ll find anywhere else. The tip opening measures. Also note that a little bit of facing asymmetry is perfectly normal. This piece is a really good player with a very free-blowing feel, lightning-fast response, and a very bright but solid tone. It can play at any dynamic you want and never sounds shrill as long as you voice it well. It gets a nice kick like what you get from a Dukoff or Guardala at high dynamics, but instead of the buzzsaw effect it gets a very jazzy spread and wispy tone at lower dynamics. Unfortunately it’s a bit too bright and too open for my taste, so since I’m past the return window I’m passing it along for a slight discount – grab it while you can!
