Walstein Bronze AS-P Alto Saxophone Sax – ROCK/SKA/FUNK/Hi-NRG HORN – serviced! I’ve got two of these and THIS one is a different animal – its GUTSY and RAUCOUS, so is good for Rock/Ska/Funk and Hi-NRG Soul – that kind of thing! – (note: this is an early one just marked Walstein before they had to change their name to Bauhaus-Walstein due to the pre-existing piano company with the same name). In very good physical condition and has just come back from a Clean/Oil/Adjust with a very experienced technician, so no worries! One thing to point out is this horn has a wider neck-pipe diameter at the mouthpiece end, like Yanagisawa’s do, so will only fit pieces with the wider 16mm-diameter shank, but that’s WHY it is a power player! Note: Conn, Selmer, Keilwerth and others also had horns with wider neck-pipes at different times, so there are plenty of pieces around that will fit, like Yani’s, Soloists, some (but not all) OttoLinks, also many other makers like some of the Meyers and some of the Vandorens etc. It comes with an unbranded plastic mouthpiece which is pretty good on it with the right reed (a D’Addario Select Jazz 2 Medium Filed), but I would recommend upgrading to a proper hard rubber or metal mouthpiece as soon as you can. Also comes in a VERY GOOD hard-shell ABS case with both side and top handles which is also in very good condition – and I would do a deal on it to send the sax, well boxed, in a decent-quality gig bag instead of the ABS case, as I wouldn’t mind keeping the case – send me a message about this!
