ORIGINAL WALT JOHNSON ALTO SAXOPHONE CASE fits SELMER YANAGISAWA YAMAHA ETC

Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This listing is for an original Walt Johnson alto saxophone case. This is one of the best cases ever made, in my opinion. It has a very durable outer shell, which is quite resistant to cracking. The latches are extremely robust. There is no risk of your case accidentally opening up and your horn tumbling out. The interior is very well form fit to modern horns. It does not allow any movement of the instrument within the case. Unlike so many other cases, these seem to last indefinitely with relatively minor wear and tear. I think someone re-sprayed this case with black spray paint at some point. I believe that is how they were originally finished though. The one minor flaw of these cases is that they are susceptible to paint chips and scratches revealing the underlying white/grey shell material. My guess is that someone just wanted to restore it to a better appearance. They accomplished this, and I wouldn’t have even known it was repainted, except that they sprayed over the name plaque as well. Anyone who knows these will easily recognize this as a WJ case though. Oddly, they must have masked off other areas, because there is no paint on the trim or latches. This case is in very good condition. There are no cracks or damage to the outer shell. The two halves of the shell line up properly when it is closed without any manipulation. The latches work properly. There is some very light oxidation in few spots, but nothing serious. The interior is clean and odor free. This case will fit most modern alto saxophones with right side bell keys. The exception would be for’big bell’ horns. It will not fit horns with oversized bell flares, such as Keilwerth and some Cannonballs. Thanks again for looking! This is due to lack of available transportation ie.
