The gold standard of session players. The two most desired alto sax mouthpieces (in my humble opinion) are the meYer NEW YORK and the meYer New York USA pieces. Phil Woods choose to play the New York USA and I can understand why. A bit more projection and a bit brighter, and a phenomenal player (Phil too), and that unmistakable meYer sound. Its so familiar when listening to the greatest alto players of all time. This is the near mint backup now for sale. Tip, rails, table, baffle all perfect. This Meyer New York USA 5M Medium Chamber is in excellent original condition. This is all original. It has a beautiful baffle, nicely curved sidewalls, and a nearly untouched appearance throughout. The tip opening measures a correct original 0.074. This is a perfect one piece does it all alto sax mouthpiece for the serious professional. There are a few very minor ligature scratches and a few very minor teeth marks on the face (see photos). Other than that this would be a totally mint piece.
