Think sick PHIL WOODS, think sick CANNONBALL tone but in a tip opening that’s LETHAL!! If you like vintage NY USA Meyers I have a collection of them in almost every size! For alto saxophone, you’ll likely really dig this mouthpiece, esp. If you’re looking for HUGE volume / power! This vintage NY USA 10M medium chamber hard rubber Meyer is for an experienced player–much too much firepower for a beginner–NOT a starter jazz mouthpiece! You will likely want to use a lighter reed. In my opinion, it’s warm with nice core and good edge (not too bright, not harsh) and easy-blowing with an excellent balance of resistance and flow with the correct embouchure and reed combination. I recommend play-testing it with 3, 2.75, 2.5, 2.25, 2 (in both premium cane and Legere Signature) to dial it in since everyone’s embouchure is different. Pics tell the rest of the story.
