You can clearly see the original Meyer 6 M triangle low on the table, indicating this is one of the earlier examples, it has the pronounced scooped side walls. This is a very fine playing example, it has that sound, the tone quality that you want in a New York Meyer. This is why these have been the most widely used alto mouthpieces in the studios for the last 50 years, nothing records better. This one plays medium bright and responds quickly with a beautiful even tone from the bottom to the top of the range. It is hard to find a NYUSA 6 that plays as good as this one.
