Florida alto STM 6. 076, 100% original facing, complete with the original ligature. This piece has a cooking bebop sound and plays great with medium reeds. The 6 tip opening with a medium reed produces a classic alto tone, not too big, not too small. The piece has a few scrapes and scratches and a mark on the left rail, as pictured, but these are cosmetic and don’t effect how it plays. The tip seals, it passes the pop test. You could have the facing cleaned up by a tech if you wanted, but I wouldn’t want to touch it, as it sounds great and has character as is, and I wouldn’t want to risk losing any of that for the sake of appearance. It’s an original Florida, the man knew what he was doing. Many pro jazz and rock players have used these Florida STM alto pieces. The great British alto player Pete King played this Florida model in a 6 tip opening for many years, check out his performances on YouTube to hear what one of these can sound like.
