VERY VERY RARE vintage Lawton 9 STAR BB Alto sax mouthpiece. All the old Lawton metal mouthpieces produce great sound but this one is nothing short of sensational – absolutely clear as a bell with ENORMOUS power but no harshness and GREAT harmonics… Stands out in the section effortlessly and loud guitars and drums no longer a problem. I play this on my Conn underslung dark lacquer Alto with a Legere 2 1/2 and just love the effortless big big sound through the whole range. Now in my 7th decade, my musical activities are quietening down so no longer need this beast, but someone else should be making it sing… I’ve taken the photos in a strong light so you can see every mark – such as they are, are only superficial, and the plating is in excellent condition.
